There is actually a head attached to the hands

I am a working mom living in Norway, and I am not an origami expert.
In fact, I don't have any formal knowledge of paper folding.
This project started because I enjoyed following other people's tutorials, but I realized I had a recurring problem: every year, I forgot how to fold even the simplest snowflake.
I spent more time searching for old instructions than actually making anything. Eventually, I decided to record these videos primarily for myself, so I would have a reliable place to find the instructions again next winter.
The designs shown here are a mix of patterns I have found online and some of my own ideas. Since I am learning as I go, I likely won’t be able to answer technical questions about origami — I am just a person with some curiosity and lots of cheap paper, trying to find a way to appreciate the winter, and the cold - and the darkness ...more.
I have never been particularly fond of winter. However, there is something about the geometry of a snowflake that I find fascinating. These small natural wonders are a reminder of how dependent we are on a powerful nature that functions perfectly well without us. If these paper versions can make the winter season feel a bit shorter and more full of wonder, that is enough for me.
